Resurgo is a hybrid, cash-based practice. Traditional insurance-based PT often means short visits, high patient loads, and reimbursement rules that don’t account for the time real evaluation takes — tools like musculoskeletal ultrasound, force plate testing, and hand-held dynamometry rarely fit inside what insurance will cover. That model is built to get you to “good enough” as efficiently as possible, not to get you back to performing better than before.
Being cash-based also means Resurgo can offer things insurance simply doesn’t cover anywhere — asynchronous support between sessions, ongoing access to your program, and programming that’s actually built around you rather than a standardized protocol. That combination is unique to this practice, and it’s the whole reason the model exists: so every session (and everything between sessions) is built around what you actually need, with the time and tools to find the real “why” behind your pain, not just manage the symptom.

Hybrid care means your plan is built from two parts: in-person visits and structured digital support between them.
The in-person side is where hands-on treatment, ultrasound imaging, and coached strength work happen. How often you come in is decided together, based on what you’re recovering from and what realistically fits your week, rather than a fixed protocol or whatever an insurance plan will authorize.
Between visits, you’re not left waiting. You have direct access for questions, and your program is updated as your progress calls for it, not held until the next appointment to change anything.
The goal was never time spent in a clinic. It’s the outcome that time produces. For most people that means fewer visits, less disruption, and a lower overall cost, because the work between sessions counts as much as the work during them.

No — Maryland allows unrestricted direct access to physical therapy, so you can book directly without a referral, no matter how long it’s been since your injury. That said, if you’ve already seen a doctor, had surgery, or have specific protocols or orders from your physician, bring them — they’ll be reviewed and worked alongside. Starting here doesn’t mean choosing one or the other.

Your evaluation runs a full 90 minutes. It covers a complete examination and assessment, and initial treatment in the same visit. Hand-held dynamometry, force plate analysis and diagnostic ultrasound are used as the case calls for them — to sharpen the exam, the assessment and the plan of care, rather than as a fixed checklist. Every follow-up after that is a full 60 minutes, one-on-one. Nothing shared, nothing overlapping; the whole session is yours.
Come in wearing clothing and footwear you’re comfortable moving in. Depending on what you’re being seen for, the area being evaluated will need to be visible or accessible for imaging, hands-on assessment, or treatment. If you have questions about how privacy and sensitive areas are handled, ask on the discovery call — better answered before your first visit than wondered about during it.
Payment is due at the time of service. Your intake paperwork is delivered when you schedule your initial evaluation.

Yes. No injury, just want to know where you stand? The same evaluation includes force plate analysis and strength testing to establish your baseline and build past it — you don’t need to be hurt to start. The goal isn’t only to treat injuries and pain — it’s to prevent them.

Pricing is transparent, and it’s covered in full on the discovery call — before you commit to anything. The reason there isn’t a price list on this page is that the plan of care is built from what the evaluation actually finds. Quoting a number before that assessment would either be a guess or a package you don’t need. The discovery call is free and takes thirty minutes, and you’ll finish it knowing what the evaluation costs and what the options after it look like.

No, Resurgo does not provide superbills or HSA/FSA payments. This is a deliberate choice rather than oversight. A superbill and HSA/FSA cards both leave the final decision in an insurance company’s hands, potentially taking away the high standard of care that Resurgo provides.
The alternative is simpler, more predictable, and transparent: you know what your care costs up front, and no third party gets a vote in how long it takes or what it should look like. Protecting that is what makes this level of care possible in the first place.
