Care Built Around Your Comeback

Every plan blends hands-on manual therapy, dry needling, and real-time ultrasound imaging with progressive strength and performance training, so you don’t just feel better in the clinic. You get back to training, competing, and moving without holding back.

How is Resurgo different?

An outcome-based methodology, reverse engineered to get you exactly where you want to be and beyond.

It starts with where you're going

Before anything else, you name the destination. Not "less pain," the actual thing. The race in April. The barbell overhead again. A full season behind the plate. Picking your kid up without bracing for it first.

And it doesn't stop at getting back. The goal is the version of what you didn't think was still available to you: not just returning to your baseline, but past it.

That answer is the brief. Everything else is designed backward from it.

Then you find out where you're standing

Objective testing establishes what your body can produce right now. Real-time ultrasound shows what the tissue is doing while it happens. Together they locate you, how far it is from here to there, and what specifically is in the way.

The distance between those two points is your plan.

The path forward

The plan is written backward, from the goal. The work runs forward, from where you are.

Phase 01 — Mobilize & Desensitize Calm the tissue and reduce pain so your body can tolerate movement again. Using real-time ultrasound to see what's happening rather than guess at it.

Phase 02 — Activate Once movement stops flaring things up, the right muscles get switched back on. Targeted hands-on work and dry needling where it helps, so tissue is ready to be loaded.

Phase 03 — Load With pain calmed and the right muscles firing, load goes on progressively, rebuilding strength and capacity until your body can handle real training, not just daily life.

Phase 04 — Recover Recovery is built into the plan rather than left to chance, with guidance on sleep, load management and how pain actually works, so you're not white-knuckling it between sessions.

Phase 05 — Perform (Better) Back to running, lifting or your sport, stronger and more resilient than before the injury. This is the phase the whole plan was designed from.

The tools

None of these belongs to a single phase. They're the instruments the plan uses. Which one is doing the most work changes as you move through it.

Real-time musculoskeletal ultrasound — used at every stage. Heaviest at the start, when the question is what's actually irritated, and again whenever something changes and the picture needs checking rather than guessing.

Manual therapy — weighted early, where the job is restoring mobility, calming the nervous system and making movement tolerable again. Available later whenever a restriction needs clearing before load can go on.

Dry needling — used where it earns its place, most often early alongside manual work, and guided by ultrasound to enhance precision.

Objective testing — force plate testing and handheld dynamometry. Used at the start to establish where you actually are, and repeated through the plan so progress is measured rather than assumed.

Progressive strength and conditioning — the weight of the work shifts here through the middle and late phases. It's what turns tolerating movement into performing again.

Asynchronous programming and coaching — running the entire time, on every day you're not in the room.

Between visits

Your plan doesn't pause between appointments. Programming is written for the days in between, and how much guidance you need in a given week isn't fixed in advance. Some weeks need more, some need less. It adapts to you rather than following a set pattern.

Weekdays — a response within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.

Weekends — a response within 48 hours.

Every week — a recap, so progress is something you can see rather than something you're told.

Care is organized around the outcome rather than the appointment: one-to-one in-person visits, combined with asynchronous support between them at the frequency your plan actually needs.

Who Else Resurgo Can Help

The Resurgo methodology is built to help busy, active adults and athletes resolve recurring pain and injuries to get back to peak performance. It isn't the whole picture. We also treat:

  • Acute injuries: fresh sprains, strains, and post-injury care that needs prompt, precise evaluation.

  • Pre- and post-operative rehabilitation: preparing for surgery so you go in stronger, and rebuilding afterward with objective criteria rather than a calendar.

  • Youth athletes: safe return-to-sport progressions and injury prevention for young competitors.

  • Active older adults: maintaining strength, mobility, and independence for those who want to stay active at any age.

  • General orthopedic conditions: having neck, back, hip, knee, ankle, shoulder or elbow pain that hasn't resolved on its own? Reverse-engineered to find what's actually driving it, then progress you back to full function.

  • Concussion care and post-concussion syndrome: a comprehensive exam that will establish a plan to safely build your tolerance to return to school, work, and all the activities that you previously participated in, limiting recurrent symptoms or residual deficits.

  • Performance-focused athletes: no injury, just want to know where you stand? The same evaluation includes force plate analysis and strength testing to establish your baseline and build past it.

You don't have to consider yourself an “athlete” to be seen at Resurgo. Every one of these is approached the same way: start with where you're trying to get to, and work backwards from there.

Not sure if you fit the mold? The fastest way to find out is a free 30 minute Discovery Call or just email or call or text 410-343-9348.

That's the first question, and it's the one the whole plan gets built from. Every plan starts with a free Discovery Call: a 30 minute conversation to talk through your goals, what's going on, and map out next steps. No pressure and you lead the conversation. The plan starts with your answer, so the call does too.

So, where are you trying to get back to?
